Because of the love of the Father in me, I forgive you – Part 1 Guest: Simon Nziramakenga | Julian Gibb interviews Simon Nziramakenga. Simon shares his personal experience with the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. “Between my wife and I, we lost 80 members of our family.” Julian asks, “Why did you go back to Rwanda?” Simon replied, “To be honest, I didn’t want to go. But because God says we should go, I said to my wife, “I’m going to go.”” Simon shares, “There are many people who say, “How can I forgive those who took lives?” They’d say, “I know you have killed my mother, my cousin, but because of the love of God, I forgive you.”” Simon continues, “When I went there, there were dead bodies all over, everywhere. Where do you start?” Simon continues, “When you obey God, when you see these people who have killed your relatives with your own eyes, you want to bring them to Christ.” “Let’s start with the orphan”, Simon shares personal stories of baby orphans that he worked with who have gone on to help change the nation. https://www.rwandagsps.com
Because of the love of the Father in me, I forgive you – Part 2 Guest: Simon Nziramakenga | Julian Gibb interviews Simon Nziramakenga Part 2. Simon shares about loving the people who killed his relatives. “It’s because of what He has done for me, make me a new person, he helped me to forgive other people who killed my relatives.” Simon continues, “The only thing I can give you is to forgive you, because of what Christ has done for me, to die for me, this is how I forgive these people. When you go to them and tell them, ‘I love you’, they think you’re joking. It’s one thing to talk about the love of God, but it’s another thing to talk about the love of God demonstrated in a tangible way; food, clothing, shoes, something. Gradually, they see God in you, and they know you’re serious.” Simon continues to lead a preschool and elementary school which he started with his late wife for the orphans created due to the genocide: www.rwandagsps.com
